My stay at the hotel was unexpectedly pleasant. The room was spacious but cluttered with extra single and portable beds that were unnecessary. Despite this, it offered a reasonable amount of space and ultimate comfort, making it a quiet retreat even though my room was at the front. The staff were incredibly helpful, providing valuable recommendations for the best venues and experiences in the area.

The hotel offers a spacious room with a unique layout, featuring a double and a single bed with a nice en suite on the lower level and a cozy lounge area with a fantastic view upstairs. While the windows need improvements to reduce street noise, the family faced challenges with a road-facing room disturbing their sleep.

6.4/10
The hotel is really in need of some improvements, especially with the noise from the street creeping into the rooms. Though I was exhausted, the convenience of being near Princes Street and the Airport Tram was a plus. However, the overall decor felt outdated, consisting of a small bed and dark, depressing curtains, not quite justifying the price paid.
Rooms
5.0
The rooms really need some updating, particularly with the windows as the street noise could be heard, making it hard to have a peaceful stay.
Service
6.0
The receptionist was unfortunately rude, but on the plus side, the hotel provided free drinking water filling stations.
Location
8.0
The hotel is presented well and in a fabulous location at the center of Edinburgh city, offering easy access to various attractions and dining options.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was okay at Café Rouge, located across the road, which could be a bit inconvenient, especially for quick buffet options before starting the day.
Facilities

The facilities were basic, nothing extraordinary but served the purpose adequately.

The hotel rooms were very spacious, ideal for a family with a double bed and two singles, but might feel too large and 'dormitory-like' for a couple. The view from the big window was lovely, though our room faced the back, which could be due to chance.
Rooms
8.0
The room exceeded our expectations, providing everything we needed and boasting a lovely view from the large window.
Service
7.0
The service was friendly and pleasant; the staff was always on hand to assist us. While they were not incredibly helpful with recommendations when asked, they did express concern and noted our complaint.
Location
9.0
The location was perfect for our needs, centrally located on a bus route. Just a street away from Princes Street, we could step out the door and be on the high street surrounded by shops and the castle within a minute. Plus, there were stores and restaurants nearby.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was okay, but we wished for more choices and larger portions considering the price we paid for the hotel. The cinnamon rolls were a highlight until checking in.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel's facilities were adequate; however, more dining choices and larger portions would have improved the experience.

The hotel offers fine rooms with helpful staff, but they need to reconsider their breakfast arrangements with the adjacent cafe. While a bit dark, the room was spacious enough, especially for a quick stay in the city. Keep in mind that opening windows may bring in street noise and heat during warmer days.
Rooms
8.0
The room we stayed in was big, a triple room that suited us well, including a good size bathroom.
Service
8.0
The service was extremely helpful, both professional and friendly. However, there was an issue with blocking money from my card despite paying cash upon arrival.
Location

The location is excellent, very close to Princess Street, making it convenient to catch buses and get around the city easily. There are plenty of lively restaurants nearby, and it's just off Princes Street in the city center.

Our stay at the hotel was delightful. The rooms were perfect for our group of 3, overlooking Frederick St, and had everything we needed, although there was some wallpaper ripped off the wall, which was the only downside. The hotel's location is great for sightseeing and entertainment, and the friendly staff made our stay enjoyable. Dining options were diverse, with a delicious breakfast menu available. However, it was not clear that dining was in a restaurant outside the hotel. Overall, a fantastic experience.

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms were a bit uncomfortable as they were too hot, and I couldn't keep the window open due to the loud noise from outside. On the bright side, the staff was welcoming and helpful. The location was fantastic, within walking distance to all the main attractions in Edinburgh, but the dining options were not the best.
